A Forum for the Future

The Kulturforum has a whole host of key players: the Philharmonie, the Staatsbibliothek, the Staatliches Institut für Musikforschung and – on the opposite side of Potsdamer Strasse – the buildings of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin and the St.-Matthäus-Kirche. The challenge they all face consists in working together to make the site into a genuine forum, one that is embraced by the diverse cultures and communities of the city. Meanwhile, there are high hopes for the Musem des 20. Jahrhunderts, which is still under construction. It is intended to create a bridge between the modern era and the present, winning over new audiences.
